In 2008, Firecom introduced the industry’s first completely wireless headset, with no external antennas or wires that reduce reliability and inhibit firefighter mobility. Our wireless headsets use proprietary DECT technology to support hands-free full-duplex crew communication on the rig and across the fireground, ensuring continuous communication with the longest range in our industry.

In 2011, Firecom continued its industry leadership with the introduction of second-generation wireless headsets, delivering extended capabilities that further enhance fire crew safety and effectiveness.

On April 2, 2012, Firecom announced that it has been granted U.S. patent number 8,126,492 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent describes improved vehicle crew communication technology and systems employing multiple wireless headsets using DECT protocols. The patented technology allows the use of multiple headsets with a single wireless base station, extends wireless communication range, facilitates full-duplex communication over multiple encrypted links from a single base station, avoids interference between multiple headsets through automatic channel selection, and optimizes noise-cancelling microphone performance for each headset’s digital channel connection.

Firecom is continuously inventing and innovating to extend the benefits of new technology in solutions that also incorporate service and support offerings to meet our customers’ needs. Additional research results are in our Engineering pipeline moving toward patent recognition and application for customer benefit.

We appreciate your trust in Firecom.
