Communication Systems for EMS
En route, on scene or during transport, a Firecom system is an essential advantage when performing critical, life-saving services. Our communication systems allow attendants to perform multiple tasks with fewer distractions and can dramatically enhance their ability to maintain patient care with continuous, uninterrupted communication.

EMS attendants will experience clear and reliable communication with the hospital and dispatch using a Firecom apparatus intercom system. Incoming information and transmissions will be heard more accurately and effectively, saving valuable time and eliminating the potential for errors.

Firecom designed a lightweight headset to be used with our intercom systems, specifically for EMS applications. The LW-10S is a single-ear headset with in-line volume control and a secure push-to-talk (PTT) button. It has a noise canceling electret microphone, which is ideal for attendants. (Not for use as a hearing protector.)

Firecom highly recommends the FS-1 hands-free footswitch for EMS communication. When vital tasks require the use of both hands, the Firecom footswitch allows the attendant to transmit without using the hand-operated, PTT button.

For EMS units that have more than one radio, the HS1 selector switch is recommended. The selector switch gives an individual user the ability to switch off the main intercom and isolate communication to one source when a particular task requires concentration. This allows the attendant to communicate on the medical radio while the driver is on the dispatch radio.
